CloudRecover LiveVault enables customers to meet strict compliance requirements, such as PCI DSS, ISO 27001 and HIPAA audits. In order to maintain these we are hereby notifying you of an upcoming LiveVault hotfix, which will require you to perform a mandatory agent upgrade on your servers and appliances.
This notification details the specific time sensitive steps that need to be taken.
What LiveVault components do I need to upgrade to this hotfix?
All Windows and Linux agents as well as Vaults, TRAs (TurboRestore Appliances) and Collector agents (CIFS and VMware).
What does this hotfix do?
This update enables the TLS communication protocol so that agents and TRAs can connect to the LiveVault service using it. In a future update, the previous protocol (SSL3) will be disabled, and therefore upgrading to this hotfix is mandatory in order to enable future access to the HP LiveVault service.
In addition, a number of defects have been fixed to improve the stability of TRAs.
Will I need to make any firewall changes as a result of this update?
No.
The resolution plan:
1. Within the next few weeks the hotfix will be made available to you. All servers protected with LiveVault will need to be updated to this no later than June 12, 2015.
2. In July, 2015, the HP LiveVault service will be updated to reject any SSL3 connections, agents and TRAs not upgraded before this date will no longer be able to connect to the service and will require manual upgrades.
Note: HP highly recommends ALL customers to upgrade their servers as soon as this hotfix update is available, and not to wait until the deadline to ensure continuous service without disruption.
What do I need to do?
Schedule the upgrade on all servers as soon as possible when the update becomes available.
Note: A Server Status Report from the LiveVault web portal will show the current release running on all servers.
Additional Information
Further information about this hotfix will be sent in the next week or two with more details.
