Security Considerations
To ensure that your system is secure, observe the following security considerations:
- When you install the LiveVault agent, use the local Administrator account for that server, or an account with equal or higher privileges.
- On Windows 2008, turn off User Access Control (UAC) or use the Run as administrator feature.
- Secure LiveVault against unauthorized use by restricting access to the directory that contains the Autonomy certificates, and grant permissions explicitly to specific users. The default location for this directory is the following paths: c:\Program Files\Autonomy\BackupEngine\Certs. However, If you selected a different location when installing the LiveVault software, you must protect this directory instead.
- Grant Full Access permissions to the user account the LiveVault service runs as, which is the Local System account by default, and administrators of the LiveVault service.
